Man Arrested For Smoking Pot On Plane
Police say a 43-year-old man on a JetBlue flight from Orlando, Florida, to Newark, New Jersey, allegedly smoked marijuana in the lavatory. A flight attendant knocked on the bathroom door when the flight began its descent, and Adam Blumenkranz emerged smelling strongly of marijuana. When the flight touched down in Newark, police met Blumenkranz at the gate. He told them he was allowed to smoke marijuana for medicinal purposes and showed police a bag of marijuana and a glass smoking pipe. Police immediately arrested him. Blumenkranz was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was later released.
